Matthias Sander

Matthias Sander is an SAP HANA expert at XLC. In this role, he supports migration projects, optimizes SAP HANA systems, and analyzes their performance while assisting customers with operations and SAP RISE projects. In recent years, his work has focused on the introduction and optimization of SAP HANA Native Storage Extension (NSE) and the performance analysis of complex SAP HANA systems. Classic SAP Basis tasks also remain part of his responsibilities.

He began his SAP career in 2005 at Schütz GmbH & Co KGaA in Selters. During his training from 2005 to 2008, he gained his first experience of SAP Basis and worked intensively with SAP on the IBM AS/400. This platform remained his primary working environment for several years, shaping his professional developing and giving him a deep understanding of the technical foundations of SAP systems. His career progressed through three major stages: operations, project work, and ultimately the role of product owner for SAP Basis.

He first encountered SAP HANA in 2015 and supported its introduction within his company. Recognizing its potential early on, he made SAP HANA his primary area of focus. Driven by the technology’s possibilities, he deepened his expertise and increasingly specialized in migration projects and the optimization of SAP HANA systems. He has worked in consulting since January 2021, bringing more than 15 years of customer-side experience and more than four years from the consultant perspective. Since January 2022, he has been part of XLC, concentrating on migration projects, performance analysis, and the optimization of SAP HANA systems.
